Why this matters & Sources

Every story includes Why this matters — the situation, the consequences, and the practical response — followed by a Sources list.

It has three parts:

  1. Situation — what happened and what it affects, with the conditions that must hold for exposure.
  2. Response — what’s actually documented as the remediation or investigation, with any prerequisites stated.
  3. Quick takeaway — the short practical meaning.

If a source doesn’t establish a consequence, the Why says so rather than inventing one. If the response is only defined under conditions, those conditions appear with it.

Each source entry links to the original captured document. Evidence in the story traces to these — nothing in a story comes from outside the captured set. Reprints add no corroboration: two outlets carrying the same wire report are one source, not two.
